Dr Anand Singh
Dr Anand Singh is an NHS Consultant Respiratory Physician at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he leads the Sleep and Non Invasive Ventilation Service and the Respiratory High Dependency Unit. He runs specialist clinics in Interstitial Lung Disease and Sleep Apnoea alongside general respiratory medicine, managing a wide spectrum of complex lung conditions.
With over a decade of consultant experience, Dr Singh has developed particular expertise in lung fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary nodules and lung cancer screening. His specialist interest in sleep medicine, including obstructive sleep apnoea, was the focus of his thesis and continues to form a significant part of his clinical practice. He combines advanced diagnostics with structured, personalised treatment plans designed to improve both clinical outcomes and quality of life.
Earlier in his career, he worked at leading centres including Glenfield Hospital and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, further strengthening his experience in complex respiratory and tertiary care. During the COVID 19 pandemic, he played a key leadership role within the respiratory high dependency team. The service’s innovative approaches to patient care were recognised with the BMJ Respiratory Team of the Year Award in 2021.
Dr Singh is also committed to medical education and professional development. He mentors candidates preparing for the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine and has authored educational resources for the Respiratory Medicine Specialty Certificate examination. He has published in peer reviewed journals, contributed to textbook chapters and regularly presents at national and international conferences.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr Singh is a member of several leading professional bodies including the British Medical Association, the American College of Chest Physicians and the European Respiratory Society. His work reflects a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation and the delivery of high quality respiratory care across both NHS and specialist settings.
