About Dr Anand Singh
Dr Anand Singh is an NHS Consultant Respiratory Physician and Sleep Medicine Specialist with extensive experience in managing complex lung disease across acute and specialist settings. Based at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, he leads the Sleep and Non Invasive Ventilation Service and the Respiratory High Dependency Unit, delivering specialist care for patients with advanced Respiratory conditions.
Clinical Leadership and Specialist Practice
Dr Singh runs specialist clinics in interstitial lung disease and sleep apnoea alongside general Respiratory medicine, managing a wide range of complex conditions including lung fibrosis, pulmonary nodules and patients undergoing lung cancer screening. His clinical approach combines advanced diagnostics with structured, personalised treatment plans designed to improve both outcomes and quality of life.
He has trained and worked at leading centres including Glenfield Hospital and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, developing deep expertise in tertiary Respiratory care. During the COVID 19 pandemic, he played a key leadership role within the Respiratory high dependency team, contributing to service innovations recognised with the BMJ Respiratory Team of the Year Award.
Expertise in Respiratory Medicine and Education
Dr Singh has a particular interest in interstitial lung disease and sleep medicine, including obstructive sleep apnoea, which formed the focus of his thesis. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in medical education, mentoring candidates for the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine and contributing to educational resources for the Respiratory Medicine Specialty Certificate examination.
He has published in peer reviewed journals, contributed to textbook chapters and regularly presents at national and international conferences, supporting the advancement of Respiratory knowledge and clinical practice.
