About Scott McKenzie
Scott McKenzie is a nationally recognised NHS transformation consultant specialising in primary care development, Respiratory and long term condition pathway redesign, and system wide change. As Managing Director of Scott McKenzie Consultancy, he works across the NHS and life sciences sector to design and deliver practical, financially sustainable models of care that improve outcomes and reduce unwarranted variation.
Experience and System Leadership
With more than two decades of experience, Scott has supported organisations across primary, community and secondary care to implement large scale transformation. Since founding his consultancy in 2005, he has played a central role in the development of over 70 GP Federations, four Super Practices and more than 40 Primary Care Networks.
He has worked extensively with Integrated Care Systems, Hospital and Foundation Trusts, Community Services and industry partners, helping align strategy with operational delivery. His work focuses on ensuring that transformation is not theoretical but embedded within day to day clinical practice and system performance.
Expertise in Pathway Redesign
Scott’s expertise includes NHS contracting and subcontracting models, gain share and risk share agreements, workforce redesign and strategic business case development. He has significant experience supporting the implementation of NICE guidance and translating national policy into local delivery.
He is known for bridging clinical, operational and financial priorities, identifying inefficiencies within pathways and supporting services to redesign around real world pressures. His approach focuses on measurable outcomes, ensuring that change leads to improved patient experience, better use of resources and sustainable service models.
